The Deep Dish Theater Company will be hosting its Second Annual Gala Celebration on Sunday, October 2nd from 5-7 pm in the Doris Duke Center in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens on the Duke University campus.

"This is a really special event for the theater," said Artistic Director Paul Frellick. "Last year's gala was a celebration of our first ten years, and this year we're looking ahead to the next ten. It's the support of our loyal and ever-growing audience that's enabled us to come this far, and providing that support has never been as fun as this party promises to be."

The Gala will feature local actress Serena Ebhardt performing an excerpt from her new cabaret show "In One Era and Out the Other", an American History review. The Ken Broun Jazz Trio will also perform. Light hors d'eouvres, drinks, beer and wine will be served.

A silent auction will run from 5:00 to 6:30 and feature artwork, memorabilia, services, and more from theater friends and local businesses. Also available will be pieces of Deep Dish's history and a season subscription.

Tickets are $50 per individual or $80 per couple, and can be reserved through the Deep Dish Box Office at 968-1515.

The gala will be held mainly indoors; patrons are invited to use the North Terrace for dining, weather permitting. The Duke Gardens website has driving directions and parking information: http://www.hr.duke.edu/dukegardens/directions.htm

For more information, please call 968-1515 with immediate questions.
