Guy Fieri, star of 3 shows on Food Network including Diner's Drive in's and Dives is taking American food culture to new heights by combining the worlds of food and rock n roll. In November, The Guy Fieri Roadshow, produced by his company, Knuckle Sandwich, will hit 21 cities in 30 days and play in venues that seat from 2,000-5,000 fans. The show, which is a co-promotion by Broadway Series South and A.C. Entertainment lands in Raleigh on Saturday, November 21.

When Guy takes the stage this Saturday he will be joined by Raleigh's very own Food Network Star. Walter Royal, Executive Chef of The Angus Barn, Ltd. in Raleigh won Food Networks "Iron Chef America" in which he defeated TV chef Cat Cora in December 2006. He will be sharing some of his own award-winning recipes during what promises to be a Culinary Extravaganza!
Guy modeled this two hour food-a-palooza after a high energy rock concert, including traveling from city to city on two tour buses with his culinary krew. "We've been test-driving this concept on a smaller scale and the adrenaline of the crowd is through the roof," explains Guy. "Putting on a show for my fans that marries food and rock-n-roll with blow-your-mind entertainment is a dream come true."

Australian-based flair bartender Hayden "Woody" Wood, an effervescent entertainer and educator on all things liquid, will serve as the opening act. Each city will feature a local celebrated chef, and then Guy will take center stage with an unscripted and wildly entertaining performance, complete with interactive cooking stations, demos, behind the scenes stories from the road and more.

For a complete list of cities, log on to www.guyfieri.com. Food Network is a media sponsor, ticket prices range from $10-250 and are on sale now.
ABOUT GUY FIERI

A best selling author, Guy's second book hits stores in November titled More Diners, Drive-ins and Dives: A Drop-Top Culinary Cruise Through America's Finest and Funkiest Joints. Guy also co-owns Johnny Garlic's (3 locations) and Tex Wasabi's (2 locations) in Northern California.

ABOUT Walter RoyAL

Walter J. Royal is the executive chef of The Angus Barn Ltd. in Raleigh North Carolina. Royal oversees the preparation of more than 5,000 pounds of beef every week. The Alabama native flexes his creative muscles by developing special menus in the restaurant's exclusive Wine Cellar Dining Rooms.

Alabama-born Royal acquired his passion for Southern food from his grandmother and mother and at age 14 decide he wanted to cook professionally. He attended LaGrange College in Georgia and Auburn University at Montgomery, Alabama. He went on to Nathalie Dupree's Cooking School in Atlanta.

Before joining The Angus Barn in September 1996, Royal developed his skills at a number of the top restaurants in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Triangle area. In 1982 he joined the Fearrington House in Pittsboro, working as sous-chef under the famed Edna Lewis. In 1986 he moved to Durham's Magnolia Grill, working with Ben Barker as sous-chef and kitchen manager. From 1990 to 1991 Royal was executive chef/co-owner of The Crescent Café in Durham. Stints at Clair's Magnum House and the Inn at Bonnie Brae followed.

In 1997, Royal's talents won him recognition from the Restaurant Guild International who named him the Five Star Chef of the Year. He is the first black chef to have received this prestigious award. Other awards have included Best Chef in the Triangle, James Beard Rising Star, Top Black Chef in America and one of the Top Five Chefs in the Southeast. Royal is also a founding member of Cystic Fibrosis' Master Chef Series, an annual event that has already raised over 1 million dollars for research of the dreaded disease. In the recent past, Royal has been the spokesperson for B & B Black History tours, on the influence of African American Southern culture and its food. Walter's recent accomplishments included an Angus Barn Achievement award, being featured in Ebony magazine, Pathfinders Travel, Southern Living and Savoy magazine. At a recent trip he showed his culinary talents at the Bermuda Cooking Festival, which was featured in Gourmet Magazine.
